Thanks for your comments! A have a few too. (:

That’s true and my point was that she kissed him, which you don’t do to your brother. That’s weird.

In my opinion, there is a bit of a difference between a tight skirt comment from your parents and one followed by this:

That’d be kind of creepy to see from your father, right?

So, I clearly see some flirty affection and mutual attraction. I try not to throw ‘that’s true love’ comments into people without more proof, but as for brother/sister/mother/father things, I think - no, just no, that’d look wrong to me.

I don’t know much about the Doctor’s relationships with Amy since I didn’t watch the 6th season, but from what I have seen during the 5th, in the beginning she constantly tried to harass the Doctor, and that was not in a motherly way. May be this kind of attitude developed later, but I really can’t comment on that.

First I want to be clear in what I’ve already said: I see at least a flirty relationship, and by that I mean that I see attraction. I just wouldn’t rest my case on those two scenes.

When people talk about this relationship being brotherly/fatherly, they are refering to the Doctor, so Clara kissing him does nothing against that. In fact his lack of involvement in the kiss helping them, as we’ve recently see he can kiss quite well.

And Amy evolved quite a lot. She kept flirting ocassionally, but it was something playful and innocent, and she certainly became more of an older sister kind of companion. Maybe mother was a bit strong, but she certainly acted as an older sister. Maybe if you had seen the previous series, you would have a different view on this relationship too ;)

I see that we agree about the flirty thing. (:

I picked these scenes as the most straightforward ones, where it’s harder to find some other meaning to what we see. (: Like, checking out Clara’s skirt is… well, you know (and that’s not even flirting since he’s alone with his own thoughts in the room).

We know that Doctor kissing as the expression of his feelings is a very rare thing (usually followed by a goodbye or saving someone/something). So, in this area we can’t expect much, of course, especially so soon.

And to be honest, both the Doctor and Clara seem very practical people to me, they would realize that this (if any) romantic thing would have no future (as always), so I can’t see a confession (and it hurts my shipper feels), and the subtle thing might be good (since a confession is the most straightforward way to admit something romantic, unless this happens people who want to see Whouffle will see it, people who don’t want to, they, well, won’t - everyone is kind of happy).

May be you’re right, if I saw series 6 it might have influenced my views. But I guess we’ll never know that. :D

One more Whouffle-related post.

So, we all know that Clara’s mother is dead.

But she still has a father. So, I think I could include the following into my wish list for the 8th season: Clara’s father meets the Doctor.

Imagine.

Clara’s father comes to visit her to the house where she works as a nanny. Then at some point Doctor arrives just to randomly see Clara. We hear the doorbell. Artie (or Angie) opens the door while Clara is in the kitchen drinking tea with her father. And then the question is asked: “Who’s there?”, and the answer is said: “Clara’s boyfriend”. And the father goes: “I didn’t know you had a boyfriend”. And then awkward silence falls. And the Doctor enters the room being all timelordy-quirky. And Clara’s father is all like: o_O

Okay, that’s it.

Just wanted to say HI! to all the new followers! I know you’re here because Whouffle. I post some words on this ship and I might start drawing fan art, so, buckle up! We have the best fandom ever.

I’ve seen a couple posts and comments saying that people perceive Clara and Doctor relationships as rather sister-brother or father-daughter ones than anything else.

I’m sorry, but I can see a bit of a problem here. So, I made a post proving my point. Gifs used are not mine,…

Well, to be fair, SHE kissed him and he did seem reluctant. The same happened with Amy and he had not a romantic interest in her.

And the skirt can certainly be a fatherly comment, how many fathers complain that her kids are wearing slutty clothes? Even my mother has told me that a certain skirt was too short or too tight.

I like Whouffle, and I think it is certainly a flirty relationship if nothing else, but those two points are a little… weak.  Plus, he also had a flirty relationship with Amy and THAT was a little motherly from her, even though she tried to have sex with him, so it doesn’t have to be that simple…

Thanks for your comments! A have a few too. (:

So, a brief introduction to why Clara doesn’t see the Doctor as a brother:

See.

If you want to do smoochie-smoochie with your siblings, I have some bad news for you - that’s not socially acceptable, even in Westeros (and they have a lot of messed up stuff there).

I see no good reason for these assumptions to even exist after everything we’ve seen.

So, cheers!

Anyways, you’re all nice people and I want you to have a good day.
